I stopped here with my husband for dinner on Labor Day weekend. The location is a classic in the New Hampshire restaurant scene. There is plenty of parking for such a massive dining room/bar. The restaurant itself feels cozy despite its size, and the service is friendly.
The menu is massive and known for its famous chicken tenders. $21 for a chicken tender plate sounded outrageous but well worth the money. The plate had a soup/salad, one side, and 20 massive tenders. So much food for one person. We left with leftovers that will last us the entire week, lol. Other highlights of this trip include their delicious chocolate mudslides. On our next trip - I am dying to try their Greek Macaroni and Cheese. I highly recommend the Puritan Backroom on your next visit to Manchester =]

The Puritan Backroom Restaurant is a must stop for anyone who wants to take a bite of culinary history. Chicken tenders were invented here and it is a must stop for that reason. The tenders are great. They also have a very large menu that includes sandwiches, lobster rolls, burgers, ice cream, and pizza.
Takeout service here was prompt, quick, and friendly. Calling ahead is easy and fast. If you're in Manchester stop here for some great food.

Excellent chicken tenders!! Sauce is delicious. Ham and swiss on rye is very good. Fries cooked perfectly. Frozen mudslide is like dessert!
Waitress very nice. Usually an older crowd and very busy.

Pretty good plain chicken tenders. However the coconut tenders were awful, they were a different cut of chicken every piece had a large tendon through it. Coconut tender buyers Be warned. We will stick to the regular tenders. Buffalo sauce is amazing

the food was quite delicious and I wish I had taken a few photos.
The chicken tender were easy to eat, and the flavors were delicious and not overpowering.
The mushroom and blue cheese burger were very good and I would get it again 😋. I really enjoyed their fries.
We each brought some baklava home and I wouldn't get it again, very dry and not really flavorful.
The service was great and overall a great.
